How much is it?

Mon-Fri before 5pm $30+ HST, after 5pm or on the weekend it is $40+ HST

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for events?

The minimum group size is 6 people and the maximum group size is 30 people

What are the hours of operation?

Bad Axe is open 7 days a week, by appointment only. Since we’re extremely busy, we encourage you to book at least 2 months in advance, especially on weekends.

How can I pay?

You can pay by cash, debit, or credit. Note: there is a 3% service fee if paying by credit

Can I get a deal if I pay cash?

The only deal we can offer is to waive the tax.

When should I book? How far in advance?

If you are looking to book on a weekend, then you should book at least 4-6 weeks in advance. If you are looking to book on a weekday, then you should book at least 1-3 weeks in advance

How long does it take?

The length of time is determined by the size of the group. For example, for a group of 8 people it will take 2 hours, for a group of 16 people it will take 3 hours.

Can I come with a couple of friends or a date?

We would love you to come with your friends or on a date, but you will have to make it at least a group of six.

Can we bring our own beer?

Yes you can bring your own beer provided it is CANNED and NOT bottled

How about other alcohol? Can I bring mixed drinks?

You can bring CANNED coolers or CANNED ciders, not no hard alcohol or wine.

What should I wear?

In the winter make sure you wear layers because it gets a little cold, but other than that just wear something comfortable.

Do you guys provide all the equipment?

Yes, we supply the axes

What should I wear?

Can my kids do this?

Yes, kids can take part provided that can throw the hatchet in a safe manner and if they receive approval from their guardian or parent.

Can we take pictures or videos?

Yes you can most certainly take pictures and videos and in fact encourage it!

Do you guys have a league?

We are planning on launching our first Bad Axe League night in the Spring

What are the axe throwing rules?

The rules will be explained to you during the orientation speech prior to your event.

What if I have to cancel? What’s your policy?

For a booking on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday we require a 2 week cancellation notice and from Monday-Thurs we require a 1 week cancellation notice.

Can we bring our own food?

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your food or snacks.

Is there an age limit?

18. We do not have an age limit, but there is a strength restriction. If we feel that a person is not strong enough to throw the axe is a safe manner, then we will not let them throw. Also, There is no underage drinking, and we will ask for I.D. if we feel you are under 19.

Can there be drinking if there people there that are underage?

Yes, but they will not allowed to drink and refusal to comply will result in their removal from the building.

Can we bring our own axes?

No, due to our insurance policies, the only axes that can be used are the ones that we provide during the event.

Do you guys provide gift certificates?

Yes, we provide gift certificates that make a great gift!

Do you guys supply food and drinks?

We sell pop, gatorade, and water.

Do you guys supply plates, forks and knives?

No, we do not provide any eating utensils. That is the responsibility of the group to bring their own if they are planning to bring food.

Do you guys have a fridge to put drinks?

Yes, we have a mini-fridge that drinks and food can be placed in.

Do you guys have music/radio or should we bring our own?

Yes, we have a blue tooth radio speaker that we can play any radio station as well as any specific kind of music at your request.

Do you guys have debit/credit or do you just take cash?

We have debit, credit, as well as cash. But if you are paying by credit there is a 3% service fee.

Will someone show us how to throw the axe before we start?

Yes, there will be a brief orientation at the beginning of your event where you will be shown the proper way to throw the axe.

Can people come and just watch or do they have to pay still?

Yes, people are more than welcome to come and cheer on their friends and family at no additional cost to them.

Is it safe? Has anyone ever gotten hurt?

We have never had anyone hurt or injured in any way. It is completely safe and we are very strict in making sure that everyone is throwing the axes in a safe manner.

Can we smoke in your facility?

There is no smoking inside the facility, but you are more than welcome to smoke outside.
