This October kicks off the first World Axe Throwing League’s(WATL) World Championship at all Bad Axe Throwing locations. From the 23 companies in WATL, and over 30 locations around the world, one winner will be crowned the World Axe Throwing Champion and win $3,500 and a trophy that will make the Stanley Cup jealous.
Where else can you bring your girlfriend, husband, cousin, colleague or anyone else in your life to enjoy one inclusive activity, all together? Wrangle them up and bring them to our axe throwing league. It’s a place of acceptance, passion and hilarity. It’s a league you can join alone or with others. It doesn’t have any weird initiation customs and it doesn’t require you to wear any silly shirts, hats or uniforms. (Though you can if you want!)
Our axe throwing leagues are only $15/week. We also include a league appreciation night, where you can bring family & friends at no extra cost.
We just ask that you come as you were born (with clothes on) and be your awesome self. It’s really that simple. You don’t even need to bring axes, we have you completely covered with all the right tools. So easy, right?
You’ll also get access to the best of the best—our expert axe throwing coaches who are passionate about helping others develop their talent. They’ll give you some pointers and show you how to perform a few new maneuvers and maybe even add a couple tricks to your arsenal. As they do work for us, they are also fine folk you’ll want to hang out with and who will always keep your safety top of mind. You can rely on them to keep everything in check like ensuring everyone gets about 40 throws a night and that everyone has a good time.
With our leagues, you don’t have to buy your own equipment. We supply the axes for you guys. If they break, it’s okay, you’re never on the hook for it.
So, how do the championship work? Like our normal season, the league runs for 8 weeks, providing you with ample time to warm-up with a few practice throws at the start of each night before you eventually master the sport. We’ll record your progress, help you fine tune your technique and get you prepared for the final week which sees everyone have a chance at scoring the gold in a real axe throwing tournament. We’ll crown the ultimate champion at the end and celebrate just like true lumberjacks and lumberjills do (you’ll have to participate to find out!).
Since we believe fun should be accessible for as many people as possible, we’ve also made each axe throwing league affordable. Anyone can join for only $15 per week! For less than the price of a decent restaurant hamburger, you can experience the thrill of slicing the air with precisely sharpened steel blades to unleash your inner talent.
