It's important that you wear a shirt that is comfortable. This will help your overall axe throwing experience by not wearing something that's constraining your ability to throw an axe. The best way to test out if you have the right shirt is to do an overhand throw. If the shirt is too tight to make that motion, switch into something a bit more comfortable to let you throw the axe.
Please wear closed toe shoes. They don't have to be boots! Just closed toe. It's for your safety. While we have yet to have an incident, it's for your safety. If an axe were to slip out of your hands while you're walking towards the target, you'll need medical attention. The axe could cut your feet. Not only that, because we have wood chips that fly off the target, you could risk getting splinters. For your safety, we recommend you wear closed toe shoes.
When you come into Bad Axe, please wear clothes that you're comfortable in.
Ladies, please don't wear heels. Even if they are closed toed, you'll risk injury to yourself. We want you to have the best time possible, flats, casual or running shoes would be best.
Gents, do not wear fitted shirts. While they look great, they make for crappy attire for axe throwing. They wont allow you to get the full range of motion to hit the bullseye.
Make sure your shirt doesn't tighten or create a barrier when you have both hands over your head. T-shirts are ideal, but comfortable long-sleeve shirts work too.
Wear what is most comfortable for you. Either one works well for us so it's completely up to you.
Running shoes are ideal. You'll be on your feet a lot and you'll be getting a bit of a workout. Wear runners, casual shoes but no sandals & no open toe shoes.
