Bad Axe Throwing Ottawa was launched in the summer of 2015 and was featured in CBC, The Sun & the Ottawa Citizen for bringing the sport of urban axe throwing to the Capital! We're conveniently located just 2 minutes from the 417, just down the street from the Canada Science and Technology Museum.
We've become the popular, go-to destination for birthday parties, corporate events, team-building activities, bachelor/ette parties & private events. Our facilities were recently upgraded and we provide the ability to book the entire venue for your group. That means your party can have their event be completely private without sharing the space with other groups - an exclusivity that you wont find anywhere else.
Our incredible staff of axe throwing coaches is the sole reason we have over 500 5-Star ratings across Facebook, Google, Yelp & TripAdvisor. Our axe throwing coaches and other incredible staff will teach you the basics and help you hone your axe throwing skills. They'll then conduct fun & unique games, team tournaments and a final individual tournament to crown a champion!
If you're looking to book an axe throwing event in Ottawa, please use our online booking calendar to secure your space as we sometimes fill up our slots several weeks in advance.
It gets better: if you're celebrating a birthday, you get in for FREE! That's right, one birthday boy or girl won't have to pay when they let us know it's their birthday ahead of their event! Firefighters, police officers, soldiers and nurses also get our lowest & exclusive rate.
(You must provide Customer Service with a valid photo ID showing your birthday is within one week of the event, or proof of your military/police/figherfighter/nurse membership. Please provide proof/photo ID to Customer Service at least 48 hours prior to your event to receive free admission. Only one birthday discount per booking)
'cause birthday boys & girls
shouldn't have to pay.
Went there for a birthday and had a great time. Kelsey was an awesome instructor and kept everything interesting with various games and new techniques.
"Great time - Awesome staff!"
It was an amazing experience. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Can bring your own refreshments. Highly recommend.
"Fun evening with friends!"
Great evening. Fun activity that allows you to socialize with friends at the same time. Strocker did a great job showing us what to do and guiding us through the evening. Definitely an activity to do again.
"Great Place, Amazing Staff"
I had an amazing time here, it was my first time ever handling an axe and the coaches were extremely helpful and absolutely a good time. We played some fun games and the coaches were super encouraging. Relaxed atmosphere makes it so much easier to let loose and really give it a shot. Shout out...Read full review
"So much fun! Good for competitive people too!"
This was an awesome time! I really enjoyed it. It's great for competitive people and for people who just want to release some frustration too! Go with friends, family, work, birthdays, any type of party!
Went with a group from work and had a great time, even if we didn't stick many axes in the target. Lots of coaching from the Tom to make sure we knew what we were doing and we're having fun. Would go again and recommend it to anyone.
What are the hours of operation?
If you'd like to make a booking, group events are by appointment only. But we also offer occasional walk-in sessions. Make sure to scroll down and check out our walk in calendar in advance to see when you can come hang out!
How can I pay?
We're a cashless business - not in the sense that we're completely broke, but we only accept credit cards on-site. This means no dinero por favor. AMEX, Visa, Mastercard are gladly accepted. Diner's Cards are too, if anyone still uses them.
What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for events?
We can host groups as small as 8, and if you're really popular, we can accommodate up to 70 of your family and friends!
Can I get a deal if I pay cash?
This isn't a garage sale! Kidding - sorta. Being the good citizens that we are, we "like" to pay our taxes. So unfortunately cash/money won't get you hooked up.
When should I book? How far in advance?
It depends on how much you love the person! haha! But seriously, if you are looking to book on a weekend, then you should book at least 4 weeks in advance. If you are looking to book on a weekday, then you should book at least 1-2 weeks in advance. It all depends: summer time has a bit more flexibility, any other time is pretty busy.
How long does axe throwing take?
An axe throwing event should take about 2 hours. Get your chops in less than half an hour then stick bullseyes for the rest.
We accept all forms of credit cards.
Unfortunately we do not accept cash on site.

There's no better way to start an epic night to remember than with an axe in hand! Instead of debating which club to go to or the cost of flights, get your crew together for an unconventional night that’s sure to take care of any pre-wedding jitters (or better yet, let out the aggression that comes from planning a wedding).
Anyone with hands can do it and anyone who enjoys fun will.
Like the bridesmaid dress or tux that perfectly fits all shapes and sizes, axe throwing is your all-inclusive sport packed with thrills and excitement. No matter the age or skill level, it’s an accessible activity for your best friend, brother, sister and third cousin. Simply put: no one will be left out and everyone will enjoy a night to truly let loose. Bad Axe Throwing also allows you to bring your favourite party snacks, drinks and even cake. A little competitive action can cause wedding parties to get quite rowdy—and we encourage that! If you have a few party guests that feel axe throwing just isn’t for them (or maybe they have a broken arm), they can still participate in the festivities and watch from the sidelines. We won’t charge them either, because we want your celebration to be about your very last moments of singledom. You deserve to have all of your favourite people there and we’re just awesome like that.
