Spring Break: Axe Throwing Edition

Look, we’ve all been pretending to go the gym and work on our tans before Spring break hits for universities across the nation. Be honest with yourselves for once; do you want to lose your phone on the beach getting wild with Becky (every group has one), wake up with a tattoo of a DJ that your buddy Brad (no crew is complete without him) suggested, or do you want to make a memory that both Becky and Brad would be proud to throw on their Instagram? Spring Break Axe Throwing Edition is your answer!

Sure Business 101 is great, but they don’t teach you how to throw underhanded when talking about company “synergy”—whatever that means.

Let me paint a picture for you: the sun is dipping just below the horizon and the beach crowds are waning. You bypass the overly crowded music stage sponsored by an energy drink—go figure—and make your way to a strange neon-lit sign in the distance. It beckons to you, and appeals to your primal sensibilities with it’s glow. You can make out a bearded fellow squinting with a fierce, yet challenging, glance and he is framed by large axes in the background behind him. You enter the building the neon sign led you to and are in awe at the beautifully drawn, circular targets presented to you the instant you enter. A friendly face greets you warmly and says, “Welcome to Bad Axe Throwing! You wanna throw some axes?” You reach into your swim trunks for your phone (that wasn’t left in a drunkenly-made sand castle by the way) and call everyone you know to tell them to bring food, music, and drinks. You all are going axe throwing!

If you find yourself inland as the weather warms up, consider dropping in to your nearest Bad Axe location for some friendly throwing before or after hitting the beach. Locations are BYOB (varies by state, be sure to check your local laws) and offer a suite of games to help you unwind before trudging back to the books. Sure Business 101 is great, but they don’t teach you how to throw underhanded when talking about company “synergy”—whatever that means.
