What are the hours of operation?
If you'd like to make a booking, group events are by appointment only. But we also offer occasional walk-in sessions. Make sure to scroll down and check out our walk in calendar in advance to see when you can come hang out!
Can we take pictures or videos?
Please do! We love seeing pictures of you having fun at Bad Axe! Use the tag #badaxe
Do you guys have a league?
What are the axe throwing rules?
The rules will be explained to you during the orientation speech prior to your event.
Can't wait? Check out our post on
urban axe throwing rules. They are taken directly from WATL - the global governing body for the sport of urban axe throwing.
What if I have to cancel? What’s your policy?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Just don't. Don't do it. You'll regret not coming in. But if you have to, We require 5 day's notice to modify/reschedule events. Cancellations made with at least 5 day's notice can be used as credit towards a future date which is valid for 60 days. Refunds may be subject to a processing fee.
Is there an age limit?
We've had 8 year olds throw axes and kick axe. We don't have a set age limit, but there is a strength restriction. If we feel that a person is not strong enough to throw the axe in a safe manner, then it wont make sense to allow them to throw.
Can we bring our own food?
Unfortunately not. However, we have a kitchen and menu to satisfy most of your cravings on site.
Do you guys supply plates, forks and knives?
Unfortunately not. :(
We don't supply any eating utensils, but if we have any stored away from a previous group that left them, you're more than welcome to use it. Best to play it safe and bring your own utensils though.
Do you guys have a fridge to put drinks?
What kind of animals would we be if we didn't?! We have mini-fridges that you're more than welcome to use to store drinks and food during your event. But if you leave them behind, they're all mine! Muhahaha.
Do you guys have music or should we bring our own?
We have bluetooth speakers we use and can hook up your phone to it or we can hook up ours to get the tunes going. If you have some jams you want to listen to, we can play any specific kind of music you like. Just ask your awesome axe throwing coach!
Will someone show us how to throw the axe before we start?
Our talented and amazing axe throwing coaches will be there to help teach you and hone in on making tweaks to your technique so you can properly throw an axe. There will be a brief orientation at the beginning of your event where you'll be shown
how to throw an axe.
How can I pay?
We're a cashless business - not in the sense that we're completely broke, but we only accept credit cards on-site. This means no dinero por favor. AMEX, Visa, Mastercard are gladly accepted. Diner's Cards are too, if anyone still uses them.
What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for events?
We can host groups as small as 8, and if you're really popular, we can accommodate up to 70 of your family and friends!
Can people come and just watch or do they have to pay still?
We get a lot of these requests and if they're not throwing and just want to hang out with you guys, while being the odd-person standing in the corner by themselves, not enjoying the fun and watching everyone else have the time of their life while they drown in regret, we would be happy to have them come in and cheer their friends & fam at no additional cost.
Is it safe? Has anyone ever gotten hurt?
If loosing a limb counts as being safe, then yes! It's totally "safe". We get axed this question all the time, usually by people who have never done it before or never heard of it before. Urban axe throwing is completely safe. We have never had anyone hurt or injured in any way. It is completely safe and once you do it, you'll potentially hate yourself for questioning our awesome sport.
Are there any other locations I can visit?
We have locations all across Canada and the United States.
Check out our locations page for a listing of locations.
How can I book an axe throwing event?
You're in luck! Keep scrolling down until you hit the calendar availability. Pick a date, pick a time, enter your details and we'll book you in. You can book your event online, on this very page!
Can I get a deal if I pay cash?
This isn't a garage sale! Kidding - sorta. Being the good citizens that we are, we "like" to pay our taxes. So unfortunately cash/money won't get you hooked up.
When should I book? How far in advance?
It depends on how much you love the person! haha! But seriously, if you are looking to book on a weekend, then you should book at least 4 weeks in advance. If you are looking to book on a weekday, then you should book at least 1-2 weeks in advance. It all depends: summer time has a bit more flexibility, any other time is pretty busy.
How long does axe throwing take?
An axe throwing event should take about 1.5 hours. Get your chops in less than half an hour then stick bullseyes for the rest.
Can I come with a couple of friends or with a date?
Heck ya, bring your mom too! Whether it's you and the gang or you and your better half, we'd love for you to come hang out with us! Keep in mind that we have minimum group sizes if you'd like to book in a group. That allows us to schedule in a dedicated axe throwing coach to teach you the Jedi ways of axe throwing. If you have a much smaller group, you can check out our walk-ins or even contact us directly.
What should I wear?
Nothing! Clothes are so overrated. But if you insist, we suggest you wear something comfortable, as in, NO HIGH HEELS. Wear something you'd wear if you wanted to ruin someone's wedding - close-toed sneakers, a comfortable shirt you can throw stuff in, and comfy pants. Heck, wear plaid! Yes, make everyone wear plaid!
Do you guys provide all the equipment?
Lets make a deal, you supply the food, drinks and people, we supply the axes and good time. You don't need to worry about bringing any equipment or anything else in - just your party and whatever snacks you want to bring along with you.
Can we bring our own axes?
As of January 2018 - we now allow you to bring
WATL certified axes. That means you can't bring in double-bit axes or ninja stars, but hatchets and axes that are compliant with WATL rules.
