Axe Coach Award Winner

Tobias Macera of Denver

How long have you been axe throwing?
Since July of 2017 (when Bad Axe arrived!)

What’s your favorite thing about Axe Throwing?
How a series of simple movements can be so gratifying and cathartic.

What’s the best axe throwing song in your opinion?
Wrath of the Norsemen by Amon Amarth

What do you tell people who have never thrown an axe before?
That they should. Nobody leaves here without a smile on their face. Or try one at a location near you.

If you could throw axes with any one person in history who would it be and why?
Ragnar Lodbrok seems like the sort to enjoy a good throw-off.

What do you do when you’re not axe throwing?
Rock climbing, brewery hunting, and camping with a few cigars when I can.

What’s a cool fact about you?
Everyone seems to think my being a Private Investigator is pretty neat.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I have two! I can turn beer into jokes and I’m a human chia-pet. Note the beard.

If you were marooned on a desert island what 3 items would you bring?
Call me practical but a good fixed blade knife, a heavy duty tarp, and a metal pot to purify water in should do the trick.

Is there anyone you’d like to make a shout out to?
Any director that has or is planning to have a scene where an axe is thrown horizontally. Dude…. no.
