We’re continuing our awesome Axe award! This coach has continued to show what it takes to be an outstanding member of the Bad Axe Throwing team.  Neil Girvan is one of the most dedicated, hard working coaches we have here at Bad Axe, and he might just be the most famous one too! Neil is a seasoned actor based in Toronto, and whether it’s making people laugh while coaching, or making people cry while acting, he always gives it everything he’s got.

Axe Coach Award of Axellence

Neil Girvan

How long have you been axe throwing?

3 years coaching at Bad Axe and 3 years playing bin leagues before that. 6 years
What’s your favorite thing about Axe Throwing?
Winning. Hiting bullseyes, hitting killshots.

What’s the best axe throwing song in your opinion?

Anything by Motorhead

What do you tell people who have never thrown an axe before?

“You can do this.” I always start with that AND “It’s all about technique.”

If you could throw axes with any one person in history who would it be and why?

My Dad ( passed away 20 years ago) He would have loved axe throwing.

What do you do when you’re not axe throwing?

I’m a professional union actor so either auditioning for stuff or hopfully booking gigs.
What’s a cool fact about you?

I took Secret Service training with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland for the movie ‘the Sentinal’ back in the day. Lots of firing guns and running drills with real secret service agents for about a week. Not full training but certainly a fun taste.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Other than axe throwing I’d say maybe photography and writing. Wrote and produced a few plays.

If you were marooned on a desert island what 3 items would you bring?

An axe….duh. Water and a lighter.

Is there anyone you’d like to make a shout out to?
